  • If you haven't taken Exam II, you must contact me by the end of today (5:00 pm) to make arrangements for a make-up. All make-up exams must be completed by 5:00 pm Wednesday.
  • There have been some complaints about how the Gradebook on CMS works. I don't have time to make any changes. Consequently, the grade book functionality will be disabled on Thursday. You will have to keep track of your own grades for the rest of the semester starting then.

  • Exam II has been graded and the scores posted to the Web site.
  • The high was 97, the average 56 and the low 14.5.
  • Grade distribution: 100-90: 2; 89-80: 3; 79-70: 3; 69-60: 9;59-50: 6; 49-40: 7; 39-30: 1; and <30: 5 (includes 5 people who didn't take the exam).
  • You will get the exams back in lab this week.
  • The exam and its key will be posted to the Web site after some make-ups.

  • I will be gone next week to the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America (GSA). Carly and Erin are gone to, so no lab.
    • There will be lecture on Monday for Exam II and on Wednesday for the post-assessment of the gold lab. If you didn't do the pre-assessment, don't bother coming to lecture. If you did do it, make sure you come to keep your original 10 points and get your next 10 points (I haven't posted any yet.)
    • No lecture on Friday (23-Oct-09) of next week.
  • I looked at the exams from other classes and none of them had any more Water material than what is on the ones already posted. Hence, I didn't posted any new ones.

  • There has been a room change for the lab. It will be held in ESB 1006.
  • Knowledge Survey is due a week from Friday (4-Sep-09). You will need a blue bubble sheet to complete the survey. You can turn it in anytime between now and when it is due. The survey is on the Web site.

Welcome to the GEOL 1600: Global Sustainability: Managing the Earth's Resources Web site at the University of Wyoming. This course is taught by Dr. James D. Myers, who is scheduled to teach it in Fall, 2008. Feel free to browse the site. It contains lots of information about Earth resources and sustainability.
